Saturday 31st October - Street-O

10 runners & 3 witches (?! aka leaders) met at Riverside Park this sunny Halloween morning for a spot of Street O.  Thanks to Neil for planning the map & controls.  Runners split into 4 groups & set off for a 60 minute dash around Tytherington/Bollinbrook estates collecting points.  There were bonus 'pumpkins' to be collected at 5 of the points.
Results in reverse order were as follows:-
'Living Dead' - (Kate, Vanessa & Karen) - 105  (110 + 5 bonus - 10 time penalties)
'Crazy Cats' - (Jane, Kate & Kathryn) - 115 (100 + 15 bonus)
'Scary Hairies' (Lindsey, Lisa & Catherine) - 140 (130 + 10 bonus)
'Gruesome Twosome' (Alison & Liz) - 145 (140 + 15 bonus - 10 time penalties)

Well done to the Gruesome Twosome - a very close finish!  Lovely to see some fancy dress out on the streets, hope you didn't scare the residents too much!
Here are a few photos:-

Saturday 24th October - Langley Route

A challenging run around Langley and Macclesfield Forest this morning for E group but 18 brave runners decided that the hills, rain and reservoir views were well worth getting out of bed for.
We started at the car park near Teggs Nose Reservoir and headed along the Gritstone Trail to Heathcote Lane - which is actually a hill!

After a quick breather at the top, we joined part of the Langley 7 route and ran down towards Ridgegate reservoir, along the forest path, back up towards the Rangers Station and Trentabank and finally along the road back to the cars.

Not an easy run but very enjoyable with the amazing views and good company.

See you next week,

Lou, Wendy and Jenny

Saturday 17th October - Bonkers in Bolly

This morning, 21 E Group runners met at the Skate Park to go 'Bonkers in Bolly'.
Knowing there was four big hills, after a warm up led by Abi, we headed along the Middlewood to Tinkers Clough, up the path towards Hollin Hall and ran along the road.

Hill One - 'Hen do Hill' is a short and sharp hill, smiling faces proved it was welcome challenge for E group.
Hill Two - 'Neil's Hill' reps led by Abi and her famous whistle
Hill Three - Quarry Approach - another long hard slog, but not one that phased E group

... a nice downhill to the Redway was a welcome break from the hill running....

Hill Four - '3 Bends' another E group favourite!

After a quick breather, we headed down towards the Waterfall and back though Bollington to the Skate Park.

Coffee and breakfast was a popular choice post run and a good opportunity to reflect on the hills.

See you next week,

Lou, Abi, Wendy and Jenny
