Saturday 28th June - Mottram Loop with Dangerous Dave

Today's run began at the Shirleys Drive Car park and was lead by Cheryl and Harry, with Dave providing support on his bicycle.

After a brisk warm up in cool cloudy weather, 18 runners headed out on the Bollin Valley Way towards Mottram and completed a challenging route, across fields, golf course and track.

Unfortunately the terrain proved too dangerous even for "Dangerous Dave", as he took a tumble in the woods (some interesting tyre marks on his legs, but happy to report he was fine).

We encountered nettles, mud and wet grass but a great run of around 4 and a half miles, with coffee and cake rewards for some of the group at the end.

Well done all

Saturday 21st June - Bollington Surprise

Meeting Place

Today we met at the Clough Bank car park at 9.00am for Dawn's Bollington Surprise! 22 group members came along with Dawn & Cheryl leading.
We set off together along the Middlewood way towards Tytherington then up the farm track towards Kerridge with lots of looping back.  We regrouped at the memorial & split into 2 groups to do a hill work 'pyramid' on 'Neil's hill' - one group alternating with the other & doing slightly longer times.

We then all proceeded up the hill then split into 2 groups - one going across the fields & back to the canal & the other carrying on up to Kerridge & back down Grimshaw lane.

Everybody did very well on this hilly (but slightly shorter than usual - around 3.3 miles) route - I think some may even have found it a little too easy so will be opting for the tougher hill work next time - won't you??!!

A few group members went back to the 'Waterside' for a debrief & well earned refreshments.

Saturday 14th June - Prestbury Lollipop

Meeting Place
There were 22 runners out, on a warm humid morning, with Cheryl leading a group running the Prestbury "lollipop" and Gemma leading a smaller group who undertook  the lollipop with extra hills and a golf course extension.

The heat made both runs tough at times, but with excellent looping back and fantastic team support and encouragement, all were still smiling for the stretches at the end.

Well ran :-)

Saturday 7th June - Tinkers Clough Loop

The Start
We were so lucky today as it rained before our group run and afterwards but not during it!

We had 20 runners out today with a shorter and longer route options (we were swamped with current and future group leaders!). We also saw a number of new E group faces today from the C25K course and what impressive running we saw - hardly any walk breaks. I see some good potential D or even C group runners amongst us - watch this space.

A few people went for tea/coffee etc at the Tythy Club afterwards.

A good session - well done.
