Saturday 29th September

Run England - Tytherington
Another great turnout (18 runners today) and despite poor weather and blocked paths the whole group did between 3 & 4 miles (some did a few extra bits and loop-back etc). Today's route was a modified 5K route up Manchester Road, along Dorchester Way, across to Marlborough Rd, Rugby Drive and onto the Middlewood Way to Brocklehurst Road and back to the start via Tytherington Park and Manchester Road. There was some excellent speed in the final 2-300m in the 'go for home' and some noticeable improvements over the last few weeks.

Well done all.

Try to get out this week and we meet again next Saturday!

Loop Back - the proof!

Today we broke all records and had about 19  runners out (so I'm sorry but I am not listing all the names!).

We met at Bullocks Lane (by the canal) and ran a loop of almost 4 miles taking in the canal as far as The Fool's Nook and then back along the Old Leek Road to the cars.

Yes, it was muddy. Yes, the hill after The Fool's Nook was steep. Yes, it was hard work.

We had several new members - I hope that we made everybody feel welcome!

A well done to everyone - faster runners did lots of loop back (and therefore extra distance), some of our new members worked hard and got round the whole course running further than ever before - everybody is working on their own personal challenges!

Apologies for the poor images this week - I did not manage to be in the right place to get a decent picture of everyone!

Hope to see you all next week.

Saturday 15th September

Before
We met in the Clough Bank Car Park (Bollington) at 9.30 - a cooler morning (start of autumn). The group today was Nicky, Bev, Philip, Jo, Paula, Julie, Heidi, Dawn and two new members - Heather & Rebecca.

After the run
We did a short warm up then headed off down the Middlewood Way to Clarke Lane. We cut across the fields to the Kerridge War Memorial where we did 4xhill reps (30 sec, 45 sec, 60 sec and a full hill run) which got ecerybody well exercised. We ran along the high path to the Redway and then back via the fields and Tinkers Clough. The distance was over 5k - well done everyone (we rewarded ourselves with coffee and cake at the Waterside Cafe afterwards).

Saturday 8th September

Before
There was a great turnout today with two new members* (maybe the Olympics, Paralympics and the sunny weather helped!). Today we had Divya, Mildred, Lee, Dawn, Nicky, Nina, Saffron, Heidi* and Julie*

The river side of the Bollin Valley is 'closed' at the moment so we went along the other side which is a bit more 'challenging' - we found our way out onto Dorchester Way and then cut across to the Middlewood Way and back via Summerlea. The route was between 3.5 and 4 miles depending on how much loop-back was involved (Lee, Dawn and Nicky added an extra bit on as a speed/distance challenge).

Well done to everyone today - some determined efforts in warm conditions.
