Saturday 25th February

Route
Today we met at 9.30 in the Bollin Valley Car Park on an overcast but dry day (pretty much perfect running conditions). The group today was Bev, Phil, Joanne, Louise, Sarah & Karen.

We did a 5 mile route along the Middlewood Way (see picture) with 'loop-back' to keep the group together. Neil ran at a pretty steady 10m30s/mile pace (see attached graph) to 'stretch' everyone a bit!

Total time was about 52m44s.

Everyone managed to run the whole route (despite a few unhappy faces when we did 'loop-back' on hills) - well done!

Saturday 18th February

Today the weather was not kind - it was raining and windy - but 5 'intrepid heroes' (Louise, Nina, Sarah, Karaen and Sarah's sisterJo) turned out to run. Sadly Neil had a 'duff knee' and could not run with the group (age related?) - I was there in spirit though!

The group met at the Clough Bank Car Park (near Adelphi Mill, Bollington) and ran north along the Middlewood Way for 1/2 mile then turned back and ran south along the Middlewood Way to Clarke Lane. The group followed Clarke Lane, Oak Lane and eventually past the old Hollin Hall Hotel and back to the starting point via Grimshaw Lane. This is a route of about 4 miles with a few hills thrown in. See picture attached for route and elevation profile.

By the time the group returned everyone was soaked but in high spirits. Everyone ran the whole route - well done.

Saturday 11th February

After some discussion due to snow and ice we agreed to run - we met at Bollin Valley Car Park at 09.00 (Nina was wondering if it was a 10.00 start).

Attendees: Jo, Sarah, Nina, Louise

We ran Manchester Road, Badger Road/Tytherington Park/Middlewood Way/Clarke Lane and back via Dorchester Way with the 'hill'. Distance ~4.4 miles.

Well run .... map attached ... click on it for bigger view (shows the hill!)

Saturday 4th February

Kerridge War Memorial
Today we had a good turnout (Bev, Louise, Joanne, Sarah, Phil) - it was a very cold morning and everone was well wrapped up.

After a warm-up we ran along Clarke Lane, Oak Lane to the Kerridge War Memorial (pictured here). We then did a series of 5 hill reps (30s, 45s, 1 min, 1m15s and 1m30s) - everyone worked hard and got heart and breathing rates up!

We then continued along the footpath to the Redway Tavern, down to Hollin Hall, across a very 'shitty' field to the farm track, Adelphi Mill, Tinkers Clough and finally back along the Middlewood Way. Click the route image to see the hill reps!

Well run everyone

Neil
